Iranian vocalist Alireza Qorbani is currently working on music score for new cinematic project ‘Walnut Tree’.
The Iranian pop and traditional singer will be vocalizing a number of music pieces for Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian’s film which is set to get its premiere at the 38th edition of the Fajr Film Festival.
In this project, Qorbani is accompanied by one of the biggest names in Iranian traditional music, Ardeshir Kamkar, who plays Kamancheh- an Iranian bowed string instrument.
Alireza Qorbani has so far sung for several Iranian films and TV series. Some of his artistic collaborations with TV and cinematic projects include ‘The Recluse’, ‘The British Briefcase’, ‘The Tenth Night’, ‘Zero Degree Turn’, ‘Kimia’ and ‘Leila’s Loneliness’ which all have been aired by ifilm.
‘Walnut Tree’ is based on the true story of the chemical weapons attacks on northwestern Iran by the US-backed former regime of Saddam Hussein.
Produced by Seyed Mostafa Ahmadi, the cast of ‘Walnut Tree’ includes, Peyman Maadi, Mehran Modiri, and Mina Sadati.
